Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said that his country would never send its troops to Ukraine. The Guardian quoted the minister as saying this on RAI.
Italy will also not supply weapons for use outside Ukrainian territory. Earlier, other government officials also spoke about their disapproval of strikes with Italian weapons.
"All weapons that leave Italy can be used within Ukraine," he said.
- Ukraine is trying to persuade its allies to allow it to use Western weapons against military targets in Russia, not just in the occupied territory. This is important to prevent the occupiers from focusing on the border for a new offensive.
