This year's First Ladies and Gentlemen Summit will be held in Kyiv on 12 September. It has been decided to dedicate it to the topic of Child Safety.
This was announced at a press conference by the wife of the President of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, Radio Svoboda reports.
For the first time, the summit will present the results of a sociological study "Key Threats to Children", which was conducted just for this social event.
"This is a painful topic for Ukraine, where Russia kills and injures children every day and has already abducted 19,000 young Ukrainians. But although the war continues and remains the greatest pain for Ukrainians, our country is focused not only on itself, but is also looking for new solutions to overcome global threats and challenges," the first lady said.
She added that invitations have already been sent out and responses are awaited. Some first ladies and gentlemen have already confirmed their participation in the event.
According to the latest data from the Office of the Prosecutor General, as of 4 June, 551 children were killed in Ukraine as a result of Russian aggression, and more than 1,368 children were injured to varying degrees.
