In the Shevchenkivskyy district of Kyiv, an unknown person shot a man, the National Police reports

The capital's police received a report via the 102 line that shots were heard on V. Yarmola Street. Investigative teams from the Main and District Police Departments immediately arrived at the scene.

Law enforcement officers found out that an unknown person approached a car parked on the street with a man and his wife and shot the man, after which he fled. The woman was not injured.

All services are working at the scene, the issue of legal qualification is being resolved, and measures are being taken to identify and detain the attacker.

RBK-Ukraine, citing sources, reports that an unknown person shot at Kazakh oppositionist Aidos Sadykov, who is known for his criticism of the Kazakh authorities, in the Shevchenkivskyy district of the capital.


The Prosecutor General's Office reported that it had launched an investigation into the attempted murder of a journalist, a citizen of Kazakhstan.

According to preliminary information, an unknown person with a pistol ran up to the car where the victim and his wife were, shot the man, and then fled.

The attempted murder took place in the Shevchenkivskyy district of the capital near the house where the couple lived. The victim and his wife, also a journalist, have been living in Ukraine since 2014 and have refugee status. The man is currently in hospital in a serious condition.
