A resident of Mykolayiv has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for handing over air defence positions in the city to Russians, the Mykolayiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reports.
A 42-year-old resident of Mykolayiv was found guilty of unauthorised dissemination of information about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and justifying, recognising as lawful, denying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorifying its participants (part 2 of Article 114-2, part 2 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
Prosecutors proved in court that the convicted person used a closed Telegram chat, which included Russian citizens, including representatives of the Russian authorities, to transmit information about the locations of Ukrainian Armed Forces units, routes of military equipment and coordinates of air defence positions in the Region.
In addition to text messages, the man sent marks on electronic maps and georeferenced photos.
The offender also supported Russia's war against Ukraine, glorified the Russian military and justified their war crimes.
His criminal activity was stopped in September 2023. He was waiting for the court verdict in custody.
