Mandatory evacuation of 5 communities in Sumy Region has begun.

According to the decision of the Defence Council and the order of the head of the RMA, mandatory evacuation is taking place from 23 settlements of 5 communities of the Sumy Region - Krasnopillya, Mykolayivka rural, Miropillya, Yunakivka and Khotin, which fall within the Russian's firefighting zone.
Currently, law enforcement agencies, the State Emergency Service, communities, military district administrations have been tasked with the evacuation, and the relevant departments of the regional administration are working and evacuation forces and equipment have been prepared.
International partners and Ukrainian volunteer organisations are actively assisting the communities of Sumy Region with the evacuation.
In particular, one of the NGOs is providing up to 200 vehicles to transport the evacuated population, medical evacuation vehicles (ambulances) to transport people with limited mobility and food packages.
They will also provide one-time financial assistance of UAH 10,800, which IDPs can receive from UNHCR through the Right to Protection Charitable Foundation.
In the rear areas of Sumy Region, 1,297 places for temporary accommodation have been arranged.
Detailed information on the time and place of gathering and registration for evacuation can be obtained from the heads and elders of the communities.
As of 7 August, 35 residents of the settlements under fire have already been evacuated, including 6 children. As of 4 p.m. on 8 August, two people were killed and two were injured as a result of Russian shelling.
In total, about six thousand people are to be evacuated. Among them are 425 children.
