Despite the events near Sudzha in the Kursk Region, gas transit to European customers is going on as usual. This was reported to Ukrinform by the press service of GTS Operator of Ukraine LLC.

"Gas is being transported to European customers as usual, without changes. Nominations have been confirmed, the physical flow of gas is maintained," the company said.

The day before, The Washington Post reported, citing an anonymous adviser to the President of Ukraine, that the Sudzha gas metering station was under Ukrainian control.

Meanwhile, natural gas prices in Europe have approached their highest levels this year due to fears of possible gas supply disruptions.

Also yesterday, Russian exporter Gazprom said that transit through the Sudzha interconnector was set at 37.3 million cubic metres per day, slightly below the usual 42 million cubic metres.

On Tuesday, 6 August, Russia started talking about a border breakthrough in the Kursk Region. On 8 August, the Ukrainian president said in an address that Russia had brought war to our land, and it should feel what it had done. The Pentagon said that it did not consider the events in the Kursk Region to be an escalation, and that Ukraine was doing what it needed to do to win on the battlefield.
