Russia struck a supermarket in Kostyantynivka in the middle of the day, the RMA reported. As of 15:11 , 11 people were killed and 44 wounded, the State Emergency Service reported.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched in criminal proceedings over violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the Prosecutor General's Office said. According to the investigation, at 11:05 a.m., the Russians allegedly launched an air strike on Kostyantynivka (initially, the RMA reported artillery).
"The occupiers hit a local shopping centre with food and household stores. The enemy attack killed 11 people. At least 37 people sustained injuries of varying severity. They are being provided with emergency medical care," the Prosecutor General's Office said.
Commercial premises, residential buildings and cars were damaged.
The rubble is being cleared. The impact of the munitions on the city and the number of victims are being investigated.
"It has been established that the enemy launched an air strike on the city with an X-38 missile and hit the supermarket. According to preliminary estimates, in addition to this supermarket, 4 private houses, 9 shops, a car wash, Nova Poshta, trade pavilions and 12 cars were damaged. Authorities, police, rescuers, and medics continue to work at the scene of the crime," the head of the RMA said.
Nova Poshta reported that its cargo department was hit. The employees are alive.
According to preliminary data, some of the parcels survived.
