Russia is trying to falsely accuse the Ukrainian Armed Forces of committing war crimes against Russian civilians in the Kursk Region.
This was announced by the spokesman for the Security Service of Ukraine Artem Dekhtyarenko during a telethon, Suspilne reports.
Dekhtyarenko noted that the Security Service has already recorded attempts by Russian special services to stage a crime in the Kursk Region to falsely accuse Ukrainian defenders of war crimes. "To this end, the Russian side has created and disseminated various fakes and information injections that have nothing to do with reality, and such enemy PSYOP is primarily related to the inability to effectively counter the offensive actions of the Defence Forces. According to the SBU, in the near future, Russian special services may resort to committing crimes, in particular, against the civilian population of Kursk Region, in order to accuse Ukraine of committing them," the SBU spokesman said.
According to the SBU spokesperson, the Kremlin will not succeed in discrediting Ukraine, which has a strong reputation for adherence to the rules and customs of war.
"The SBU warns that such attempts are futile, they do not affect the actions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces or the opinion of our country's international partners. This is because Ukraine has proven to the whole world that it strictly adheres to the rules and customs of warfare. This applies to the treatment of both Russian prisoners of war and civilians. Ukraine's actions are steadily bringing Ukraine's victory closer, and no enemy PSYOPs will stand in the way," Dekhtyarenko added.
