In the frontline city of Toretsk, Donetsk Region, about 3,000 people have not yet evacuated. Civilians are hiding from shelling in basements.
This was reported by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Vadim Filashkin during a telethon.
"There are about 3000 people in the city now. They are in basements. Unfortunately, they are leaving very slowly," Filashkin said.
He added that 10-15 people leave Toretsk every day. People who stayed in the city are being provided with humanitarian aid.
"The situation in the city is very difficult. The enemy has not taken the city, subversive groups came in, but our defenders repelled them. We have the city under full control," added the head of the administration.
