Today, on 12 September, the occupiers attacked the Red Cross humanitarian mission in Donetsk Region. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Another Russian war crime. Today, the occupier attacked the vehicles of the humanitarian mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Donetsk Region. As of now, we know about two wounded - they are being provided with all the necessary assistance. Unfortunately, three people were killed by this Russian strike. My condolences to their families and friends," the statement reads.

The President noted that everything is absolutely clear in this war: Russia brings evil, Ukraine defends life. And if someone wants to hear ‘both sides’, then in Russia it is perceived only as a permission to kill further.

"The world must react firmly and on principle. Countries and international organisations cannot remain indifferent. Only together can the world force Russia to stop this terror and make Moscow seek peace," the Head of State noted.

For his part, Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets said that three Ukrainian citizens, ICRC staff members, were killed and two more were injured by Russian shelling.

The Russian Federation shelled the village of Virolyubivka in Donetsk Region. The ICRC staff were in a truck transporting humanitarian aid.

"We are already aware of the shelling, but the ICRC, as well as the IFRC, are silent! No reaction, condemnation or expression of sympathy! Thus, this silence only covers up the criminal policy of the Russian Federation! The ICRC must officially and publicly recognise Russia's violation of the Geneva Conventions! Is the ICRC completely indifferent even to the deaths of its own staff? Or are they so afraid to tell the truth?" Lubinets wrote.
