President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the UN General Assembly. He said that Vladimir Putin cannot defeat Ukrainians on the battlefield, so he is putting pressure on infrastructure.

Russia, according to intelligence, is preparing strikes on nuclear facilities in Ukraine to disconnect the reactors from the power supply system. The enemy has satellite images of Ukrainian infrastructure.

‘Any strike on nuclear infrastructure carries a huge global risk,’ the president said.

Zelenskyy stressed that nuclear reactors must be protected.

He said that this year in March he received a terrifying report: Russian missiles were flying near a nuclear reactor in Zaporizhzhya Region. The Russians created another threat without thinking about the consequences.

According to the President, those were terrifying moments when no one knew whether and how the enemy would strike the nuclear reactors and whether it would lead to a catastrophe. ZNPP is still under occupation and therefore under threat. A nuclear disaster at the plant could become the largest source of radiation in Europe and possibly even the world.

That is why, according to the President, his Formula for Peace takes into account nuclear safety. Russia is rejecting this formula because it hates not being able to control something, the president said.

‘Russia has destroyed our entire heat distribution and heat generation infrastructure and potentially millions of Ukrainians could be left without heat in winter. And this is exactly what Putin wants,’ he said.

The President called on the UN members to support the Peace Formula and remain united in order to overcome the aggressor.
