Three Ukrainian children and their mother were returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine. They spent almost a year in occupation in the Donetsk Region.
This was reported by Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets.
‘While in the TOT, they were in dangerous conditions: their mother was threatened to take the children away from them, and the minors were forced to study according to Russian educational standards. That's how they lived for almost a year in the temporary occupation of Donetsk Region,’ says Lubinets.
The relatives turned to the Ombudsman's Office. Despite all the difficulties and threats, thanks to the work with Caritas Ukraine and Rokada, we managed to organise a safe route for the family and provide humanitarian needs for them in the government-controlled territory.
The minors were returned as part of the implementation of the approved action plan of the President of Ukraine Bring Kids Back UA.
