Without adequate weapons, Ukraine will not be able to stop Russia, which is destroying the positions of our soldiers. The lives of our defenders are much more important than any buildings.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a briefing in Kyiv on the occasion of the visit of NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, answering a question about the withdrawal of defenders from Vuhledar. Zelenskyy stressed that appropriate capabilities are needed to stop the occupiers' advance.
‘It is very right that they withdraw and can save themselves - for the sake of the state and their heroic service. That is why we are asking to give us the opportunity to stop Russia with one or another weapon. To give permission, to provide the appropriate systems,’ the President said.
Zelenskyy added that the partners know what means Ukraine needs.
