Naftogaz Group companies have made the necessary preparations to ensure that Ukrainians have gas and heat in winter. It is not only about pumping natural gas into underground gas storage facilities, but also about repairing and modernising the relevant equipment and networks. This was stated by Oleksiy Chernyshov, CEO of Naftogaz Group, during the Energy of Business conference organised by Forbes Ukraine in partnership with Naftogaz and international partners.
‘We are ready for various scenarios of the gas transmission system operation in the autumn and winter. To this end, we have carried out the necessary work on gas pipelines, as well as maintenance and repair of compressor and process equipment,’ said Oleksiy Chernyshov.
He also added that the company is currently working on expanding the capacity of TPP plants, which were transferred to the management of Naftogaz Group by the government.
‘Naftogaz Group is responding to the challenges of wartime and expanding the capacity of our TPP plants by more than 200 MW to generate additional electricity in 2025. Of these, 160 MW will be built within the framework of cooperation with UNDP to supply us with gas reciprocating units. I am grateful to the Norwegian government and their Norad Foundation for their assistance in this matter,' said Oleksiy Chernyshov.
