On 8 October, the body of Dmytro Shevchyk, former director of the Central Mining and Processing Plant (CMP) and a former candidate for mayor of Kryvyy Rih, was found at a recreation centre in Kryvyy Rih district, Dnipropetrovsk Region, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing law enforcement sources.
According to the police, law enforcement officers from the Kryvyy Rih District Police Department, a forensic laboratory, a mobile forensic laboratory of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Research and Development Centre and a forensic expert are working at the scene to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
The investigation is currently ongoing, with the crime scene being examined, material evidence being collected, and witnesses being identified and interviewed.
The Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations was registered under Part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code with a preliminary additional qualification of ‘suicide’.
