Ukraine, Greece sign security agreement

Together with its partners, Greece will provide additional resources to train Ukrainian pilots and technicians for F-16 aircraft.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis have signed an agreement on cooperation in the security sector.

Zelenskyy announced this on Telegram.

‘Greece is ready to meet the most urgent defence needs of our country in the future. It will provide additional resources to accelerate the training of our pilots and technicians for F-16 aircraft. I thank Greece for all the help, for all the opportunities to protect our country and its people,’ Zelenskyy said.

The President's Office added that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Greece has been providing Ukraine with military assistance, including logistical and training.

‘With this agreement, the Hellenic Republic confirms its readiness to meet Ukraine's most urgent defence needs in the future,’ the statement said.

Together with its partners, Greece will provide additional resources to accelerate the training of Ukrainian pilots and technicians for F-16 aircraft. 

In addition, the agreement includes economic partnership, security cooperation, support for sanctions against Russia, bringing the aggressor state to justice and compensation for damages, and cooperation in the fields of culture, education and the arts. 

Greece pledges to participate in the restoration and reconstruction of Ukraine, supports its future membership in the EU and NATO, and the Peace Formula.
