On the night of 18 October, Russia attacked Ukraine with Shahed-type attack drones and unidentified drones (launch areas: Kursk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk - Russia).
This was reported by the Air Force Command.
As of 08.30 a.m., the Air Force's radio engineering troops detected and escorted 135 enemy drones. The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defence Forces.
As a result of the air battle, 80 enemy UAVs were shot down in Odesa, Sumy, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, Poltava, Khmelnytskyy, Rivne, Kharkiv, Kherson, Volyn, and Vinnytsya Regions.
44 Russian drones were located, 2 flew to Belarus, and up to 10 enemy UAVs were detected in the airspace of central Ukraine.
