Andriy Kovalenko, head of the National Security and Defence Council's (NSDC) Centre for Countering Disinformation, said that Russia will mix the DPRK military with Buryats for ‘disguise’.
‘The Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov has also confirmed the information: by 1 November, up to 11,000 DPRK troops will be ready for use in combat. The first 2,600 will be sent to the Kursk Region,’ Kovalenko said.
According to him, North Koreans are currently training at training grounds in the Bryansk Region, and they will be sent to the Kursk Region. It is possible that they will also be sent to the Belgorod Region. The rest of the North Koreans are training elsewhere.
‘They will be mixed with Buryats for disguise [...] and will actually be called Buryats,’ Kovalenko said.
It is important, he said, that the intelligence service knows everything and that Western partners are informed.
‘The West needs to understand that this is not only a confrontation between Ukraine, but a matter of global confrontation,’ Kovalenko said.
He noted that in fact, the axis of evil - Iran, North Korea, Russia - creates points of tension in Europe and the world.
