One person was killed, three others injured, and approximately 100 residents evacuated following a Russian drone strike on a high-rise building in Ternopil during the night of 2 December.
The head of the Ternopil Defence Council, Serhiy Nadal, confirmed the attack. The air raid alert in the Region was announced at 00:06. Around 02:00, reports emerged that a drone had struck a five-storey building, causing apartments on the fifth, fourth, and partially the third floors to catch fire.
Vyacheslav Nehoda, head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, later confirmed that one person was killed in the attack.
The State Emergency Service (SES) reported significant damage:
- A large-scale fire broke out,
- Windows of neighbouring buildings were shattered,
- A school and 20 vehicles were damaged.
Rescuers, special services, and psychologists are working at the site. A mobile resilience centre has been established for victims. Residents are urged to heed air raid alarms.
