Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishyna posted on her Facebook page that a large-scale targeted cyberattack on the data of unified and state registers under the jurisdiction of her department had been carried out.
According to the official, the Russians attempted to disrupt the operation of the state's critical infrastructure. Experts are currently working to restore access to the registers in stages.
First of all, the State Register of Civil Status Acts, the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs, and the State Register of Real Estate Rights will be restored to normal operation. The period is expected to last up to 2 weeks.
During the day on Friday, Stefanishyna promises to report on the specifics of providing services to citizens. After the work is completed, an analysis will be carried out to strengthen protection against such interference in the future.
The minister claims that the enemy is using the situation to sow panic among Ukrainian citizens at home and abroad.
At the same time, Russian hackers released a statement that they had gained access to more than 1 billion lines of data from the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and allegedly destroyed the information, including backup data on servers in Poland.
