On the evening of 4 January, Russian forces dropped four guided aerial bombs (KABs) on the border town of Semenivka in Chernihiv Region. The attack targeted a residential area in the town centre, causing significant damage to a medical facility and nearby buildings.
Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, reported the incident. As of the morning of 5 January, nine people, including two children aged 8 and 13, have been injured. All the wounded were hospitalised in a neighbouring community, with one person transferred to the regional hospital.
The strike caused substantial damage to administrative buildings, the local hospital, two five-storey residential buildings, several private homes, and infrastructure facilities.
Emergency services have been working at the site of the attack. Overnight, 24 patients from the local territorial centre were evacuated from Semenivka. Elderly residents were transported to a facility in Chernihiv.
