The priority tasks set for the domestic defence industry in 2025 include increasing production to USD 30 billion.

This was announced by Herman Smetanin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.

‘Today, at the first meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in 2025, we discussed the main priorities and directions for the government's work. One of the key issues is security and defence, in particular the development of the Ukrainian defence industry,’ the statement said.

In 2025, the government will allocate UAH 54.5 billion to support the development of the Ukrainian defence industry's capabilities, and total spending on arms and military equipment will amount to at least UAH 739 billion.

According to Smetanin, this year, the draft production plans of domestic defence companies provide for an increase in existing production capacities to $30 billion. It is also planned to start signing long-term government contracts with manufacturers for 3-5 years.

Among the tasks set by the President of Ukraine is to produce at least 30,000 long-range drones and increase production of all types of drones, from FPV to Ukrainian Mavic. Ukrainian companies plan to produce about 3,000 cruise missiles and drone missiles.

As part of the ZBROYARI: Manufacturing Freedom initiative, it is planned to raise more than $1 billion from partners under the Danish funding model in 2025.
