Base of 810th Russian marine brigade in Kursk Region damaged, Russians awarded there

Around 13:30 on 2 January, a village in the Rylsk district of Kursk Region, where soldiers of the 810th Marine Brigade of the Russian Federation were based, was attacked. This was reported by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, Serhiy Bratchuk.

This information was also confirmed by Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Centre for Countering Disinformation (CCD).

‘There is a successful strike. The Russian 810th Brigade suffered significant losses as a result,’ Kovalenko wrote.

The local governor says the missile strike hit a cultural centre. According to him, none of the local residents sought medical help.

Instead, Anton Herashchenko, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, claims that the house of culture could have been used to award Russian army servicemen.

'According to some reports, the House of Culture in the village of Ivanovskoye in the Kursk Region was hosting an award ceremony for the racists of the 810th Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces. The event was attended by ‘good missiles’. The fact that the arrival was not at a civilian facility is eloquently indicated by military UAZs and Ural trucks,' Herashchenko wrote.

Update. Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strike. It indicated the target in the village of Maryino (near the village of Ivanovskoye).

'On 2 January, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a precision strike on the command post of the Russian occupation army in the village of Maryine, Kursk Region. All necessary measures were taken to minimise threats to the lives of local civilians,’ the statement said.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces StratCom reported that a deputy brigade commander and 17 soldiers, most of them officers, were killed in a strike by the Defence Forces on Lgov in Kursk Region on 25 December.
