Man killed in Russian UAV attack in Boryspil district of Kyiv Region

A crossing guard was killed at his workplace. 

On the night of 22 February, the Russian army launched a drone strike on the Kyiv Region. According to the State Emergency Service (SES) of the Kyiv Region, as of this morning, a private residential building, a kindergarten, an educational institution, a shop, and six cars had been damaged.

The fire was promptly extinguished. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv regional military administration (RMA).

“A 60-year-old man died as a result of an enemy UAV attack in Boryspil District at a railway crossing. He died before medics arrived,” the statement said.

The Russian attack also set a warehouse on fire and damaged the windows of a residential high-rise and a nearby educational institution.

Ukrzaliznytsya reported that a level crossing attendant in the Boryspil district was killed at his workplace as a result of a UAV crash.

“Train traffic on the section is allowed at a reduced speed. Trains are running on schedule,” the company said.

In addition, UAV wreckage fell in the Solomyanskyy district of the capital, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said.

Later, he reported that a fire had broken out at the crash site on the grounds of a private building.

“There is destruction. Rescuers are working at the scene,” Klitschko added.
