President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the first steps to establish real peace should be to force Russia to stop its attacks.

He wrote about this in Telegram.

‘And it is possible to control this. Silence in the skies - a ban on the use of missiles, long-range drones and bombs. And also silence at sea - a real guarantee of normal navigation. Ukraine is ready to go the way of peace, and it is Ukraine that wants peace from the very first second of this war. The task is to force Russia to stop the war,’ Zelenskyy said.

He reminded that last night the Russian army carried out another massive attack against our energy sector. Various facilities in several regions were attacked - Odesa, Poltava, Chernihiv, Ternopil. In total, the Russians used almost 70 missiles - cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as almost 200 attack drones.

‘All this is against the infrastructure that ensures normal life. Repair and restoration work is underway wherever necessary. Unfortunately, there are also damages to ordinary residential buildings. In Kharkiv, a Russian missile hit a house next to ours. People were injured. The necessary assistance is being provided,’ Zelenskyy said.

He also noted that F-16s and Mirage-2000s provided by France were used to protect Ukrainian skies today. In particular, the Mirages successfully worked against Russian cruise missiles. The President thanked our anti-aircraft missile troops, army aviation, and all our electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups for the result.

  • Last night, Russian troops launched cruise missiles from the Black Sea for the third time since the beginning of the year, the most massive attack this year - almost 20 missiles.
  • Russia has attacked energy and gas infrastructure in various regions of Ukraine. All necessary measures are being taken to stabilise energy and gas supplies, but the situation in the energy system may change.
