In the near future, Russia will increase its information pressure and may resort to further nuclear threats. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with journalists on 12 March, when asked by the editor-in-chief of lb.ua.
Speaking about Russian information about successes in the Kursk Region, he said that Ukrainian troops are fulfilling their tasks. Russia is trying to put as much pressure on them as possible.
According to him, the command is trying to save as many lives as possible.
‘The military command is doing what it has to do: saving as many lives of our soldiers as possible. We understand what the Russian side will demonstrate in the coming days. I think the issue is not even that they are raising the temperature in the Kursk direction. I think there will be different types of intimidation. And of a nuclear nature as well,’ he said.
Zelenskyy believes this is Russia's methodology before any format of diplomacy.
‘We need to respond to real threats, not just informational ones. Of course, people should not be in an information vacuum. Our intelligence service, our military, the Ministry of Defence need to respond as quickly as possible, refuting this or that information, threats or not. We must prepare for strong information pressure,’ the President warned.
- Recently, the Russians began to report on their offensive in the Kursk Region and the displacement of Ukrainian troops from there. The same information appeared in Western media. On 10 March, the Commander-in-Chief said that the situation on the border of Sumy Region with Russia's Kursk Region was under the control of the Ukrainian Defence Forces. He added that there was no threat of encirclement of Ukrainian units in the Kursk Region.
- Recently, the commander of the operational command North, Dmytro Krasylnikov, was dismissed. He said that he was not told the reasons.
