On 20 April, master of sports of Ukraine in short-handedness Andriy Dzyuban was killed while performing a combat mission in the Sudzha district of Kursk Region.
This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Youth and Sports with reference to the Sports Committee of Ukraine.
Andriy Dzyuban was 41 years old. He was killed while performing a combat mission in the Sudzha district of the Kursk Region.
‘Andriy was a master of sports in short-armed combat, a multiple champion and prize-winner in Thai boxing and kettlebell lifting. He not only reached sporting heights himself, but also trained future champions - he led a martial arts section and founded the Unity Kung Fu Club,’ the statement said.
In 2024, Andriy joined the 82nd separate airborne assault brigade. His call sign Biker became the embodiment of courage and steadfastness.
‘Andriy was a loving son, a devoted husband, a father of two, a reliable friend and colleague, a man of sincere heart... He died for the freedom of Ukraine, for our right to the future. Eternal memory and eternal gratitude!’ the statement added.
