Plzen to host Ukrainian Day of Gratitude to the Czech Republic

Ukrainians express gratitude for Czech support during the Great War.

On 27 September 2025, a Czech-Ukrainian cultural day entitled Thank You, Czech Republic will be held in Plzen on the embankment near the Museum (Náplavka u Muzea, Anglické nábřeží). The event is organised by the public organisation Společně v Evropě – Česko-ukrajinské kulturní centrum in cooperation with the Czech organisation K světu, z. s.

The celebration will last from 12:00 to 18:00 and will be dedicated to Czech Statehood Day. It symbolises the gratitude of the Ukrainian community in the Czech Republic for the support provided to Ukrainians during the war.

The programme includes concerts, dance performances, creative workshops, exhibitions and a culinary fair. Participants include:

  • the Czech band Tři Bětky;
  • Ukrainian guitarist Mark Zemlianskyi;
  • vocal studio ANT and children’s choir Seven Kids;
  • the ZGARDA folk ensemble;
  • the dance groups BARVY, VILNA and the Fénix Denc studio;
  • performers Olha Yurchuk, women’s ensemble RUTA, Beata Kosina, Tetyana Svitlyčna, Maksym and Anželika Procenko, Oksana Leta, Nataliia Poliakova, Tonya Bur, Sofiia Leta, Oksana Lozynska;
  • bandura player Hanna Bodnar.

In addition to music and dance, visitors can enjoy art workshops from the ANT studio, an exhibition of applied art from Klub nových komunikací, and a mini-fair with artworks, souvenirs and national dishes.

Admission to the event is free.
