Russian attack on Kirovohrad Region causes widespread power outages, rail disruption

According to the Regional Military Administration, there are no casualties. 

On the night of 17 September, the Russian army launched a massive attack on infrastructure facilities in the Kirovohrad Region, using drones.

As of 7:30 a.m., 44 settlements in the Oleksandrivka community and part of Kropyvnytskyy remained without electricity, according to Andriy Raykovych, head of the Regional Military Administration. Residential buildings in Oleksandrivka were also damaged.

“Emergency services were extinguishing fires all night,” Raykovych said.

Rail transport has been suspended in two directions: Pomichna – Kropyvnytskyy – Znamyanka – Pyatykhatky and Fundukliyivka – Znamyanka – Pyatykhatky.

According to Raykovych, there were no casualties. Clean-up operations are ongoing.
