Two events featuring Ukrainian poet, social activist and veteran Olena Herasyuk took place recently in Amsterdam and Zwolle.

An evening dedicated to the genre of poetry slam – a bold and expressive form of poetry that combines literature with performance – took place in Amsterdam. Olena shared her experience of participating in European and world slam tournaments, and also read several poems that deeply moved the audience. The discussion was moderated by Dariya Lysenko.

In Zwolle, Olena presented the project Unfinished, created together with writer Yevhen Lir. The initiative honours Ukrainian writers whose voices were silenced by Russian aggression. Unfinished preserves their stories, works and memories, creating a space where the voices of murdered Ukrainian writers continue to be heard.
