Since the start of the full-scale war, the occupiers have killed 661 children and kidnapped and deported more than 19,000. Every day, Russia commits all six of the most serious crimes against children, as defined by UN Security Council Resolution No. 1261.

This was reported by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Ruslan Kravchenko.

According to Kravchenko, after each attack on peaceful cities, Ukraine is again faced with unspeakable pain — killed and wounded children, ruined lives.

"26 October is another black day. During a night attack with Shaheds on Kyiv, a 19-year-old girl, a graduate of Lyceum No. 171 ‘Leader,’ and her mother were killed. Seven more children were injured. On the same day, in the Sumy Region, as a result of a strike on a minibus, among the victims were children aged 8 and 15," he said.

On the 1342nd day of the war, prosecutors are investigating 5,363 criminal cases involving crimes against children. During this time, Russia has killed 661 children; injured 2,203 children; destroyed or damaged more than 4,500 schools and kindergartens and 1,294 hospitals; abducted and deported more than 19,000 children; and committed at least 23 cases of sexual violence against minors.

‘These are not just numbers — they are shattered dreams of the future, the voices of children silenced forever, homes devastated. Each case is evidence of a deliberate policy of terror, an attempt to destroy Ukrainians as a nation,’ the Prosecutor General emphasises.

Kravchenko assured that Ukrainian prosecutors, together with law enforcement agencies and international partners, are investigating every crime and will do everything to ensure that all those responsible — from the perpetrators to the Russian leadership — are brought to justice.
