The Polish magazine Tygodnik Powszechny has included Yuriy Andrukhovych’s book Letters to Ukraine in its list of the 60 best publications of 2025. The Polish intellectual weekly Tygodnik Powszechny publishes an annual list of the 60 best books of the year that the editorial team considers particularly important for Polish readers. It includes novels, poetry, essays, reportage and biographies — by both Polish and international authors. In 2025, the book Letters to Ukraine by the Ukrainian writer Yuriy Andrukhovych, in its Polish translation, was included in this list. It is symbolic that 13 March marks Andrukhovych’s birthday; the author has turned 66. The book was translated by the renowned Polish poet and writer Tomasz Różycki. He is one of the most authoritative translators of Ukrainian literature into Polish and often acts as a cultural mediator between Ukraine and Poland.

Many of the texts in the collection were written before the full-scale war, but today they are read almost prophetically.
