On 25 March 2026, the writer and Ukrainian Armed Forces veteran Artur Dron will hold a meeting with readers at Ukraine House in Denmark and present his book of short stories, Hemingway Knows Nothing.
In the book, the author reflects on the experience of the full-scale war, memories of his comrades-in-arms, and conversations with them. The texts blend real events and dreams, capturing life on the edge whilst also serving a therapeutic function for the author — a way of processing traumatic experiences.
According to Dron, classical war literature is no longer capable of fully conveying the Ukrainian experience: “Only we can speak for ourselves, because everything has changed on the Eastern Front.” The author speaks candidly — as a man who has lived through the war and returned, retaining the voice of both a witness and a poet.
Artur Dron is a poet and prose writer, a veteran with the call sign David. Until 2022, he studied at the Faculty of Journalism and worked at a publishing house. After the start of the full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and in 2025 he was wounded whilst carrying out a combat mission. He is also the author of the books Dormitory No. 6and We Were Here .
