During a daytime attack on 1 April, Russian forces directed a large number of drones at western regions. As of 15:50, consequences have been reported in Transcarpathia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Lviv regions.

A drone strike hit an enterprise in the Zalishchyky community of Ternopil Region, the city council reported on Facebook.

As of 14:26, firefighting efforts were ongoing. No casualties have been reported.

“As a result of the attack, a UAV struck one of the community’s enterprises, causing a fire. All relevant services are working at the scene,” the city council said.

Residents were urged not to ignore air raid alerts and not to film or publish the aftermath of the strike.

In Transcarpathia, the regional military administration reported that two districts were hit. One person was injured.

“During the air raid alert, Russian forces struck critical infrastructure facilities with UAVs in Khust and Uzhhorod districts. Specialised services are working at the sites. I thank everyone for their prompt and coordinated work,” the administration said.

Damage was also reported in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.

“During the air raid alert, Lviv Region was attacked by Russian combat drones. Relevant services are working at the sites and assessing the scale of the damage. UAV debris is also being found across the region. If you come across any, do not approach — they may detonate. Immediately call the police and emergency services,” said Lviv Regional Military Administration head Maksym Kozytskyy.

In Ivano-Frankivsk Region, critical infrastructure was affected, said regional head Svitlana Onyshchuk. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties.

“In Kolomyya district, about 11,000 consumers were temporarily left without electricity as a result of the attack. Specialised services are already working to restore power supply and eliminate the consequences,” she said.

It is worth noting that not only western regions were affected during this wave of attacks. There were casualties in Cherkasy Region and damage in Poltava and Sumy regions.

Russian forces continue to change their tactics in carrying out mass strikes. Last week, they launched a daytime attack with hundreds of drones on western Ukraine, including Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne and Ternopil regions. Despite the intensity, Ukrainian air defence demonstrated high effectiveness, with more than 95% of drones shot down.
