With the change in weather, Russia has intensified offensive operations and is conducting them practically along the entire 1,200-km line of combat contact. The hottest areas over the month were the Oleksandrivsk, Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka and Lyman directions, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyy reported following a meeting.

Ukraine is conducting an active defense. The defenders counter the enemy’s number of combat actions with their quality.

"In March, our troops restored control over nearly 50 sq km of territory that had been occupied by the enemy," Syrskyy said.

To reduce the Russia’s offensive capabilities, the Defence Forces continue high-intensity strikes against military, defence-industrial and other facilities on enemy territory that support the occupiers’ actions. In March, Deep Strike assets hit 76 such targets, including 15 oil-refining facilities.

"I also heard reports on the state of mobilisation and recruiting, logistics support, fortification of defensive lines, training and restoration of units’ combat capability, and maintaining law and order in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the context of the Support Forces Command report, I emphasized intensifying work on engineering obstacles and fortifications. It is precisely where fortifications are prepared in advance and properly equipped that we are able to hold the defence for a long time, protect Ukrainian defenders and destroy more occupiers. A new solution in today’s ‘drone war’ is equipping sunken routes for the movement of military equipment and personnel. The Air Assault Forces are showing an example of how this should be done. I set tasks for the next period," the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces said.

  • In February, the Defence Forces recaptured more than 280 square kilometers of territory from the enemy. The defenders went on the offensive in the Oleksandrivsk direction.
