The organisers of the Venice Biennale have announced the composition of the international jury for its 61st exhibition. It includes American curator of Ukrainian origin Marta Kuzma, as confirmed on the official website.

The jury will be chaired by Brazilian curator Solange O. Farkas. The panel also includes researcher and curator Zoe Butt, director of the Abu Dhabi Public Art Biennial Elvira Dyangani Ose, and art historian Giovanna Zapperi. The panel was approved by the board of directors upon the recommendation of the exhibition’s curator, Koyo Kouoh.

The jury will award the Golden Lions for best national participation and best participant in the international exhibition, as well as the Silver Lion for a young artist and a number of special prizes.

The 61st Venice Biennale, entitled In Minor Keys, will run from 9 May to 22 November 2026 in Venice.

Marta Kuzma is a professor at the Yale School of Art, a former dean of the institution, and a former director of the Norwegian Office for Contemporary Art. She also founded the Soros Centre for Contemporary Art in Kyiv and has worked on leading international projects, including Documenta 13 and Manifesta 5
