Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the European Political Community summit, which began today in Yerevan. He extended wishes of peace to Armenia and Azerbaijan, and also highlighted shared challenges.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that this year will be decisive in determining whether Russian aggression will continue. He called for sustained pressure on the Kremlin to compel Russia to end its aggression.
“This summer will be the moment when Putin decides what to do next — whether to expand this war or move towards diplomatic channels. And we must push him in the direction of diplomacy,” he said.
Russia has announced a parade on 9 May without military equipment — for the first time in many years. This suggests that, for the first time, it is unable to afford such a display.
“And Ukrainian drones may also fly over this parade. This shows that they are no longer as strong as they used to be. And we must maintain pressure on them through sanctions,” the President of Ukraine added.
He emphasised that Europe must be at the negotiating table for peace. It is important to establish a unified format for such negotiations.
