In Zaporizhzhya Region, officials plan next week to expand the list of settlements where mandatory evacuation of children will be introduced.

This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhya Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov.

According to him, evacuation measures are currently being carried out in 16 settlements across five communities. In those communities where mandatory evacuation of children had already been announced, all measures have been fully completed—no children remain there.

"Next week, two more settlements from two communities will be added to the list for mandatory evacuation of children," Fedorov noted.

The head of the administration stressed that evacuating elderly people and people with disabilities is also a priority, and this is proceeding gradually on a voluntary basis.

He said that during mandatory evacuation from frontline areas, the principle of keeping families together is observed—children leave together with their parents, and no cases of families being separated have been recorded in the region.

  • In January, the region announced a mandatory evacuation of children together with their parents or legal guardians from five settlements in Zaporizhzhya Region.
