Nina Murray — Ukrainian-American translator and poet. Her award-winning translations include “The Museum of Abandoned Secrets” by Oksana Zabuzhko (Amazon Crossing) and “Ivan and Phoebe” by Oksana Lutsyshyna (Deep Vellum).

Murray received the Drahomán Prize for her English translation of Lesia Ukrainka’s drama “Cassandra.”

This year’s laureate was awarded a unique distinction — a painting created by Ukrainian artist Anna Zvyahintseva — as well as a monetary prize of €3,000.

The 2025 Drahomán Prize shortlist also included Alessandro Achilli and Yaryna Grusha for the Italian translation of Iryna Shuvalova’s poetry collection “Endless Songs”, and Nils Håkanson for the Swedish translation of Sofia Andrukhovych’s novel “Amadoka.”

A special recognition for a profound contribution to building a shared context between two distant cultures was awarded to Mridula Ghosh, a translator from Ukrainian into Bengali.
