Ukrainian Days in Luxembourg (UA Days in Luxembourg) is a festival aimed at bringing Ukrainian and Luxembourgish communities closer together. This year, the series of events will focus on art threatened by war. The organisers see their mission as preserving memory and highlighting the resilience and resistance of Ukrainian culture.
The festival will run throughout June. Among the events is an exhibition of works by the Kharkiv art studio Aza Nizi Maza, the opening of which will feature a screening of the documentary film Underground Garden, about children creating art in an underground shelter.
A screening of Pavlo Ostrikov’s film U Are the Universe is also planned.
The literary programme will feature Iryna Tsilyk and Irena Karpa, who will appear alongside their Polish, French and Luxembourgish colleagues to read texts and discuss how creativity preserves memory and gives form to lived experience.
On 11 June, a concert of Ukrainian classical music will be presented to audiences in Luxembourg. The programme will include works by Mykola Lysenko and Levko Revutskyy. Pianist Marta Kuziy will perform.
An evening dedicated to the Ukrainian rooster is scheduled for 13 June. The event will combine jazz, film screenings and refreshments.
