On 5 June, the NotaBene Chamber Group will perform at the Chamber Hall of the Old Music Academy at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. The concert programme will feature two string quartets by the prominent Ukrainian composer Boris Lyatoshynsky.
Printed scores of the compositions will also be presented during the event.
The concert is organised by the Ukrainian Institute.
The NotaBene Chamber Group is a chamber ensemble founded in 2015. Its repertoire includes both classical works — ranging from the Viennese classics to composers of the early 20th century — and contemporary academic music by Ukrainian and international composers.
The performance in Budapest will feature Andriy Pavlov and Maksym Hrinchenko on violin, Ihor Zavhorodniy on viola, and Artem Poludennyy on cello.
Borys Lyatoshynskyy was a Ukrainian composer, conductor and teacher, and one of the leading representatives of modernism and expressionism in Ukrainian classical music. Last year marked the 130th anniversary of his birth.
