The Ukrainian Institute in London is organising a public recording of an episode of its podcast, The Ukrainian Shelf, as part of the Edinburgh International Book Festival. The event, which will be livestreamed, is scheduled for 26 August, the organisers report.
The podcast will, as usual, be hosted by Olesya Khromeychuk, a Ukrainian-British historian, lecturer, writer and publicist, and a researcher of the history of East-Central Europe, and Uilleam Blacker, a Slavic studies scholar, lecturer at University College London, one of the best-known contemporary foreign researchers of Ukrainian literature and a translator of Ukrainian literary works into English.
The podcast’s guests will be Bohdana Layuk, Deputy Minister of Culture, and Charlotte Higgins, The Guardian’s chief culture writer and author of the book Ukrainian Lessons: Art in a Time of War.
