Yevheniya Kuznetsova’s novel Ask Mietchka will be published in France under the title Demandez à Mietchka by Les Argonautes Éditeur, reports the author’s Ukrainian publisher, The Old Lion Publishing House.
In their blurb, the French publishers call the book “a luminous and deeply humane novel in which simple things gently remind us of what matters most.” It is a story about family, memory, choice, love, and those invisible bonds that connect generations.
The French edition will be translated by Nikol Dziub, with design by Loriane Thibergien. The book will be published with the support of the Ukrainian Book Institute as part of its translation support program.
Pre-orders are already open on the publisher’s website, pre-order, and the official release is scheduled for 4 September, 2026.
As a reminder, Nikol Dziub worked on the French translation of Artem Chapeye’s book The Ukraine, which was selected for the shortlist of the Pierre-François Caillé Prize for the best translated book in France,
