Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Vasyl Zvarych, and Ukraine’s Ambassador to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, will move to work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They will become deputy ministers.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on 3 August at a meeting of ambassadors, an LB correspondent reports. Note that deputy ministers are appointed by the government.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been left without a minister as a result of the government reshuffle carried out this July. Andriy Sybiha remains the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The president did not submit nominees for ministers under his quota, so the Verkhovna Rada did not appoint full-fledged heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence.
