Overnight, the Russian army struck the production and logistics infrastructure of the Epicentr company. As a result of the attack, an employee was killed, the company reported.
Strategic logistics capacity has been destroyed. In effect, one of Ukraine’s largest ceramic tile production facilities has been lost.
As a result of a massive missile strike, the Russian military simultaneously hit two key logistics complexes of the company.
In Kyiv, the logistics centre on Viskozna Street—one of the company’s key logistics facilities—burned down completely. At the logistics and production complex in Kalynivka, a company employee was killed. Three more people were injured and are in hospital.
As a result of direct missile hits, two large warehouse complexes were completely destroyed.
Another missile hit the production site of the Epicentr Ceramic Corporation plant directly. A powerful explosion destroyed all production kilns, making further operation of the facility impossible. Near the logistics complex, the parking lot for employees’ private cars was also completely destroyed—20 vehicles burned to the ground.
“We are forced to make an extremely difficult decision—to halt production at the Epicentr Ceramic Corporation plant. To prevent product shortages and ensure uninterrupted deliveries, production will first be moved to two of the company’s facilities abroad. In parallel, we are beginning preparations to launch production at another facility in Ukraine,” the press release said.
According to preliminary estimates, fully restoring the destroyed production facility will take at least a year and a half, and most likely around two years.
“That is why our top priority today is to promptly relocate production abroad in order to ensure the company’s uninterrupted operations and the fulfillment of its obligations to partners and consumers,” the company added.
Epicentr noted that the scale of the damage cannot yet be definitively assessed.
- On the night of 5 August, Russia killed 14 people in Kyiv Region. Nine people died in Brovary district. In Bucha district, four were killed, and one more person was killed in Fastiv district. The State Emergency Service reported 27 injured.
- In Kyiv, it is known that one person was killed and 26 were injured. Doctors hospitalized 16 of the injured. Four of the victims are in serious condition.
