Jasem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has confirmed the organisation's readiness to deepen its partnership with Ukraine.
This was reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Budaiwi noted the positive momentum in the GCC’s relations with Ukraine since the signing of a memorandum of understanding in 2017. He emphasised that the joint action plan for 2025–2030 is a clear roadmap for developing trade, investment, the agricultural sector, and healthcare.
The GCC opposes the use of force and advocates a diplomatic path to resolving the war in Ukraine.
In addition, the Gulf countries continue to provide humanitarian and food assistance. Mediation by GCC countries has already helped secure the release of prisoners of war and ensure exports of Ukrainian grain, the Ukrainian embassy said.
