On the night of 8 August, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with six Iskander-M ballistic missiles, S-400 missiles, and 151 attack drones. Air defense forces destroyed or suppressed 135 Russian UAVs.

According to the military, the attack began at 18:00 on 7 August. Russian forces used six Iskander-M ballistic missiles and S-400 surface-to-air guided missiles, launched from Russia’s Bryansk Region.
Russia also attacked Ukraine with 151 attack drones of the Shahed type, including jet-powered UAVs, as well as drones of the Gerbera and Italmas types and Parodiya decoy drones.
Launches were carried out from Russian territory and temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine: Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, temporarily occupied Donetsk, and Hvardiyske in occupied Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 09:00 on 8 August, Ukraine’s air defences destroyed or suppressed 135 Russian drones of various types.
At the same time, missile strikes and 13 attack UAVs were recorded at 12 locations.
In addition, debris from downed aerial targets fell at seven locations.
According to the Air Force, several missiles did not reach their targets. Information on the consequences of the attack is being clarified.
