Kyiv and the surrounding region sustained damage in a Russian drone attack carried out in several waves.
The Kyiv Regional Military Administration warned of the threat and urged residents to remain in shelters.
“Enemy UAVs have been detected! Air defence forces are operating in the region. Do not photograph or film the work of our defenders,” the Kyiv Regional Military Administration said.
A warehouse was damaged in Brovary district. As of 16:30, emergency response efforts were still under way at one location, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine said.
“Constant air raid alerts are complicating the work of rescuers. Due to the threat, personnel are forced to suspend firefighting operations and move to safe locations, then return to work once the all-clear is given,” the State Emergency Service said.
At around 13:00, air defence was operating in Kyiv.
“Air defence forces are operating against enemy UAVs in the capital. Stay in shelters!” Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko wrote.
He later reported that a non-residential building in Kyiv’s Darnytskyy district was damaged after a drone fell.
According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, damage was also reported in Desnyanskyy district, where a polyclinic building was affected.
“A minor damage to the polyclinic building was recorded in Desnyanskyy district as a result of the enemy attack,” the statement said.
