On the night of August 12, the Defense Forces carried out a unique operation to strike the naval base in Novorossiysk. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this.
The military hit the base at a distance of more than 300 kilometers from the front line. The strike was carried out with drones and missiles.
“Our Palyanytsya jet drones, Neptune missiles, and unmanned maritime systems accurately engaged the designated targets. Hits on air defense positions, berths, and the seaport’s infrastructure have been confirmed,” the head of state said.
He thanked the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the intelligence services for their accuracy and strong results.
The Novorossiysk Naval Base is Russia’s main operational and tactical fleet formation. Defenders had already attacked it in March this year.
