Ukrainian military units have received more than 1 million drones through the DOT-Chain Defence system over the past year. The marketplace allows units to independently choose UAVs, ammunition for them and electronic warfare equipment based on their specific combat missions.
Ukraine’s Defence Ministry reported this.
Through DOT-Chain Defence, units determine what weapons and equipment they need, while the Defence Procurement Agency handles contracting, payments and logistics.
According to the Defence Ministry, the average delivery time for equipment that is already in stock is nine days. This helps shorten the supply cycle compared with traditional centralised procurement procedures.
The system was launched a year ago. Initially, 12 combat brigades joined it, while 486 Ukrainian Defence Forces units now use DOT-Chain Defence.
The Defence Ministry says Ukraine’s experience has attracted the interest of international partners. NATO, France and the United States have also announced plans to launch similar marketplaces for drone procurement.
- The Defence Ministry is launching the second stage of the “Basic Supply Level” project, under which units on the frontline will regularly receive the most urgently needed weapons and equipment.
